REVIVE! Virginia’s Opioid Overdose Response Training
Overdoses can happen in unexpected situations and to anyone: a friend, a family member, a coworker, at home, outside,
or in a public place. You may not know that someone is at risk of overdose- stigma prevents many who use drugs from
telling others and physical distancing can create social isolation.
Prince William Community Services is offering a free online training that will provide the knowledge and confidence you need to potentially save a life during an opioid overdose emergency.
During this 60-minute virtual class, presented by a qualified instructor from the Behavioral Health Wellness team, you will learn:
– How to recognize the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose.
– How opioids are impacting our County here in Greater Prince William
– How to administer Narcan nasal spray to potentially reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.
– Other knowledge needed to fully respond to an opioid overdose emergency (what to do and not do).
Upon completion of the online training, residents of Prince William County and Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park will
receive the REVIVE! kit (two CPR mouth barriers, vinyl gloves, stickers, instruction card) and/or no-cost naloxone.
